Organic farming reduces chemical inputs. Regenerative practices foster ecological balance and resilience. Permaculture and regenerative agriculture are both holistic approaches to farming, restoring biodiversity, and reducing dependence on external inputs.

CEO
Malia is the founder, CEO, of Malama 'Aina Foundation IE. She is the Project Designer and Director of Business Development for the Malama Farms & Gardens, Conservation + Green Spaces, and Education, Training and Apprenticeship workforce development programs. With a diverse academic, business, financial, and entrepreneurial background, Malia has entered into the world of regenerative agriculture and conservation and land management, to restore biodiversity, address food insecurity in marginalized communities, and develop sustainable city planning.
Malama 'Aina honors, protects and preserves ancestral lands, air and water from destruction, pollution, contanimation, through holistc practices of Native and indigenous cultural tradition.

AGUSTIN EQUIHUA ORTIZ
ART & AG
Agustin is a visual artist (printmaker and painter) and shows his work locally, regionally, and internationally. He is knowledgeable about permaculture and organic farming. He is the Director of Art and Agriculture program for Malama. Agustin is co-founder of the Lokahi Creatives Collective.

JAYSON JONES
FARMS
Jayson is Project Manager for our Malama Farms & Gardens projects. He also teaches our sustainable agriculture classes and community workshops. He is an artist and a musician and the music director for the Lokahi Creatives Collective.
